We’ve always been here

“I haven’t been to everywhere yet, but it’s on my list.” – Susan Sontag

GROUP AND PERSONAL TRAVEL

We’ve scouted each destination for the best food, experiences, and guides and then booked far enough in advance to make sure you get a spot.

Based on Catalina Island, California our travel team is lead by expert travel designer, Elizabeth Wenger. She has been serving her travelers and her community for decades building amazing group travel adventures that have a special element unlike any trip you’ll ever take.

We have relationships with vendors who offer native experiences, so you’ll see destinations through the eyes of a local. Join one of the journeys we are organizing for this year and the next!

COMPANY HISTORY

Born on Catalina Island, California, raised by travel writer and global workers, company founder Elizabeth Wenger was destined to have a career in the travel world. Here is a window into her background and a peek at the dense travel experience she embodies.

Having traveled to almost every continent and spending time as a resident on four, I realized I can talk all day about an upcoming trip or experience. Research has always been my thing, way before the internet was invented. When I opened my first travel agency and tour operation in Chicago, Illinois, I never looked back. Searching for the most unique and distinctive experiences for the travelers world wide. I lived in the jungles of Indonesia as a teen, so I was not afraid to help my guests explore and find the most quintessential experience for their chosen destination.

IT’S A FAMILY THING

My mother, Chicki Mallan, was a Mayan expert and writer of more than 28 travel books for Moon Publications, especially focused on the Yucatan peninsula and the Mayans. On her coattails, I was able to start a US based booking agency for the small unique properties in Mexico. This was when we only had fax machines to send our data! My company started by becoming their US representative, opening a locally run office in Isla Mujeres. There we eventually branched out to arranging VIP experiences in the Yucatan and then grew to focus on more global custom experiences.

I helped spark the creation of tour operations around the globe with local collaborators. For example, I needed a golf cart for one of my passengers to be able to be driven around in central Rome as he could not walk. Together with local tour operators, we created a golf cart tour in Central Rome. In New Zealand, our passion for a particular trip was Lord of the Rings, so I reached out to the WETA studios. We set up private tours and a workshop with the studio. They had never done this previously and now we can send guests to the most exciting experience that we helped develop.
